Japanese Woodblock Printmaking at Palo Alto Art Center
A ten-week class every Monday evening from 7:00pm - 10:00pm.
Create new imagery and repurpose your existing artwork as multi-color fine-art prints using the Japanese watercolor woodcut. You'll learn how to transfer images to woodblocks, carve using knives and gouges, and print with watercolors on a variety of Japanese papers. This non-toxic process is ideal for the studio and home setting. Although a beginning workshop, artists familiar with printmaking will learn something new in this innovative approach. Expect to make two-three editions of prints throughout this course.
