Sign up to learn the Japanese Watercolor Woodcut (max 9 seats) at my professional studio in Palo Alto. This nine-hour workshop is split into two sessions scheduled on:

  • June 27th at 1:00 PM
  • June 28th at 1:00 PM

The purpose of this workshop is to introduce you to the basic concepts of woodcut printmaking at an affordable cost. Although a beginning workshop, artists unfamiliar with printmaking will learn something new. You will be able to continue the practice in your own home.  As part of the workshop, you have the option to take home the woodcarving tools, inks, printing brushes, you use during the workshop in a discount kit.

  • Image-making, suitable for woodblock printing
  • Transferring images to woodblocks for carving
  • Carving techniques using Japanese knives and gouges 
  • Printing using water-based inks with a baren 
  • Printing multi-color woodcuts
  • Compiling a group portfolio through a print exchange
